Thanks, David. I hadn't known that about the tearing of the veil. Very beautiful.

What does it mean, in the below, "And the word that you hear is not mine..."?

"Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me."

Not entirely clear to me. Happy Easter!

Thanks for the kind words. It means that Jesus is speaking on behalf of the Father.

What was confusing to me was the sentence before this one, along with this one. As though if one did not keep His words, then that one would not hear the words of Jesus, but the Father's. But I see that the "And the word you hear is not mine..." applies to the entire verse and not the line preceding it. Thanks!

You could, but God specifically said that he blessed and sanctified the seventh day which is Saturday. Honoring Gods seventh day sabbath is obeying His law.

Yes, but also Mark 2:23-28.

God rested on the seventh day, so why couldn’t he have started on a Monday?

How do we know that the sabbath means Saturday?

What / who is the Holy Spirit in the original Greek? Seems like something gets changed in the English translation, so I’ve read. Thank you.

I depends on the context. In John 14:26, the Holy Spirit is called both the paraclete, translated as Helper, and also the “agion pneuma,” literally the Holy Spirit.

Because it’s the only one God asks us to “remember”, as the seventh day Sabbath is Jesus’s mark. It is a sign between the true Church and Him. Sunday is the first day of the week. Saturday is Gods Sabbath day which He created for us to take a break from our work and fellowship with Him.

What if I take my sabbath on Monday?

And loving Jesus means keeping ALL of the 10 commandments, especially the fourth one as God asks us to “Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy”.
