The Satanic Lullaby
In the West, we're free and drowning in our wealth and prosperity, but it's lulling us to sleep. We can't advance the Kingdom of God if we're not awake.
I rewatched Sheep Among Wolves, Volume II, this week. The one section that really struck me was the section about the “Satanic lullaby.”
You can see it here, from timecode 1:17:34 to 1:24:44. The video is prompted to the right spot, so just hit play.
I know some additional details about this, as I’ve heard the Iranian church leader described here interviewed in other places, and he told the same story, so I’ll throw in some more of what he recounted.
The church leader is Iranian and grew up in the USA. His wife is Iranian and grew up in Iran. In her youth, she was an atheist but then went through a powerful encounter with God as a young woman. Long story short, she was going to commit suicide and God stopped her. After that, she became on fire for Jesus in Iran. She met this church leader and got married. Afterward, she came with him to the USA. After a few months, she told him that she wanted to go back to Iran. He was shocked, and when he asked her why, she said that the West had been lulled to sleep by a “Satanic lullaby.” Nobody in the West took Jesus seriously or really cared about advancing the Kingdom, she said. And so, they moved back to Iran to continue the work there.
Where there is persecution, Jesus thrives. Where there is wealth and freedom, Christians start to rely on those things rather than on God. As Matthew 6:21 says, where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. And we have a boatload of treasure in the West that is unrelated God and lots of things to distract us from the work of growing the Kingdom.
So, if we’re not looking for Jesus, we don’t see him show up. Does he come and we fail to recognize him, or is he waiting for us to walk up from the lullaby before he shows up. I don’t really know. Probably both. Either way, our senses are dulled and we’re missing our calling.
Have you been lulled to sleep by Satan’s lullaby? Tell me in the comments.
Today’s Prayer

The pandemic and all the craziness and control that ensued has drawn me closer and closer to God. I’ve almost finished the entire Bible (first time all the way through) and spending more time in meditation and prayer than ever before.
What a powerful message. Truth is I have been lulled by the satanic lullaby but the good news is that the Holy Sprit is always present leading us and drawing us to Jesus our only hope in this life. Praise God for that.
