Try Leviticus, and take it seriously, not literally though. Catholic Jew here. Adjective noun.

Amen! Thank you. Wonderfully put. There is nothing freer in this fallen world then accepting the yoke of God. Simple, but definitely not easy, yet absolutely worth it.

Exactly. Thanks for your comment. I went and found Still in the Storm and subscribed as well. I appreciate your viewpoint.

Irish Catholic here. Circumstances so often remind me of something my mother once said about the world. She said that "the world" likes to complicate things or make things seem as though they are. This acts as an excuse for all manner of mischief. Mimicking the world in its excuse-making, she mockingly said, "Oh, well, you see it's all very complicated..." "Oh, well, it's all very hard, you have to realize."

She went on to say -- and this I remember exactly -- "No, Kathleen...It's not complicated at all. There's no mystery here. It's all 𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 simple."

When she said, "There's no mystery here," she referred to other than the Mystery of Life itself. She meant that the pursuit of proper living -- how to do it -- was not mysterious 𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍. She warned me that the world never ceases in trying to make it seem complicated or that circumstances come before character.
