Why did Jesus pray to himself to ask that Himself remove his cup from himself? And apparently it took conscious effort to make a decision to align himself with Himself? And then Himself decided to give himself something other than what he asked for?

While I’m at it, if Jesus died, who resurrected him? If he resurrected himself, then was he really dead? And who was the ransom of his life paid to? How does the concept of a ransom (equivalent exchange) work in this situation?

Why did he have to “learn obedience” through the things he suffered? (Hebrews 5:8) What use would that quality have for him?

Why in Hebrews 5:7 does it say he was favorably heard for his godly fear (when praying in the garden with blood and sweat?) and that he prayed this way to someone else able to save him out of death (if he Himself is God?)

Also, in verse 9 he was “made perfect” … so what was his status before?

Vs 11 and 12 are really true.

You’re free to answer those questions for yourself on your own Substack. You’re not free to come here and just troll. This is your one warning. “Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.” – Proverbs 26:4

Thank u, David for this word of encouragement at just the right time. I was in need of being reminded that this life is not my own and not about me, it’s all about God and His will for His creation, which is here for His pleasure. Not that I think He likes to cause pain, but the beauty that comes from tha pain later is always worth it. Just a little while, and He will come back for us to take us home so we can be with Him forever in heaven! Looking eagerly for that event❣️🍒

Looks like I'm coming across this almost a year after you posted it, but it was in my feed. I've applied this "trick" for the past couple years trying to understand why my daughter had to pass away. Now last night hubby gets a cancer diagnosis. Like you said, ultimately God's will is done NO MATTER WHAT, but it helps to go through the hard times when we can agree that for reasons we cannot understand, allowing these types of suffering serve His purposes and I agree it's His World and that's okay.

Dear ICI, I’m so sorry u lost your daughter. I lost my only son, my firstborn, when he was 44 y/o. It was sudden, shocking and sad. I understand the loss of a child, there’s no way to describe the loss, the hole it leaves inside. God and my precious family are the only reason I made it through that time. He has always been there for me through the hard times, without fail. I’m 76 y/o and had my share of them as well as good times too. I will pray for your husband, that he will get excellent medical care from knowledgeable doctors who are compassionate and caring and know exactly how to treat his condition. Praying for u too, that God will strengthen and help you care for your sweetie as he recovers. God bless you and give you a sense of peace and comfort.❣️🍒

Hi Cherre, Yes, we both understand the pain like no other. I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for the prayers as well. So far, God seems to be opening doors for hubby's care that seem unbelievable, although nothing is set in stone with which doctor yet, but we have inroads where we need them. With all the terrible things in the world, there sure are some moments when people are at their best. I'm sure you've witnessed it.

Thirty-ish years ago, trying to "make" a fourth baby ( in hopes of several more), I repeatedly experienced an "elevator descending" feeling: came to recognize it as, hormonal , baby loss. Feeling this while standing at the ironing board, ironing my husband's shirts, I thought, "Nevertheless Lord, thy will, not my will, be done". Sad that my husband did not accept my feeling, thought I was being silly.
