I’ve been thinking for a few weeks about starting a discovery group to give an overview survey of the Bible. The idea would be to meet weekly, for about an hour, in the evenings (USA time). Simple Christianity has a worldwide following and all would be welcome, but I couldn’t promise a time that would work for those in other time zones.
This would be appropriate for people that are new to Christianity as well as people who have been Christians for a longer period of time but who want to strengthen the fundamentals (which in reality means just about everybody).
There would be a very limited number of spots for this, though if we do it right we could grow and multiply groups.
So, if this sounds interesting, shoot me an email to “simple christianity at substack dot com” (remove spaces and replace words with appropriate symbols).
I’ll gauge the interest and get back to people one way or another.
I know this post is from last year. But now that I know what Disciple Making Movements and Discovery Bible Studies are, I do have some thoughts about those. I am considering ways that I might use the Discovery Process and initiate studies locally, in person.
This doesn't strike me as something that would adapt well for online use, but that is no more impossible than what is being accomplished with the in-person groups. Have you been able to take it any further?
I would be interested in the fellowship. I don't see an email to send the comment
